Malware is a BIG problem these days, and the issue is growing exponentially. Most computers we work on contain some level of unwanted programs or malware, slowing the computer down and making your life harder than it has to be.

Malware is often designed to stay hidden from you, to lessen the chances of it being removed. Their purpose is usually to spy on your internet activity and deliver advertisments to you in your web browser. 

However, it can be a lot more nefarious than this:

"Trojans" are also very common are often used by hackers to tunnel through your computer and conduct illegal activity, helping to hide the identity of the attacker (essentially making YOU look like the source of the hacking or other illegal activity!)

Ransomware is becoming more common and is one of the most disastrous pieces of malware you can acquire; your personal files (documents, photos, music files etc) will be encrypted (locked) so that you cannot access them. It is usually impossible to unlock them. The only way to get access again is to use the malware to pay a 'ransom' which will provide you with the key to unlock your files.

Most malware in its early days will bypass your anti-virus so it simply isn't enough to keep you safe. We can help you clean-up any existing malware, and show you how to try and stay clear of it in the future.
